Couples sessions are some fun, especially when its a fellow photographer that you shoot with regularly! Shayla (Shayla Marin Photography) has been wanting to have a couples session done, and I was in need of some family photos, so we swapped some services. We set out for her session and decided on Pulpit rock open space. If you haven’t been there it’s a great place to check out! They have an abundance of trails to walk on, and if you want a challenge, you can hike up to the top of the rock! We started at the bottom in the tall grass and beautiful yellowing trees.
I remember Shayla saying “its so much different being on this side of the camera!” I have to agree with her, posing is not easy. Sometimes what I ask for may sounds crazy, but once you see it in the photo it totally makes sense.
I loved the chemistry between Caleb and Shayla. It is easy going, patient, and kind. As we made our way up to the top of the Pulpit Rock, I was able to snap away and catch these emotions…
Once we reached the top of Pulpit Rock the wind was starting to pick up….and it was cold! Shayla was a trooper and didn’t show any signs of being cold! We were super excited to shoot with the pale color of the rock against that beautiful purple lace.
As the sun started to go down, and we knew we wanted to get some shots with the gorgeous landscape that makes up Pulpit Rock. Golden hour is our favorite time shoot!
As we were closing our session we found some hidden nooks and trees. I absolutely loved shooting these two!
